Quick & Easy DIY Small Gift Bags with Your Cricut

Gift-wrapping marathons can be a holiday tradition, but what about those last-minute small gifts like gift cards or cash? An envelope feels impersonal, right? That’s where your Cricut Maker comes to the rescue! Forget rushing to the store; you can create adorable Small Gift Bags right at home with materials you likely already have.

These charming little bags, measuring approximately 4″ x 4.5″ x 1″, are perfectly sized for those special small tokens of appreciation. Let’s dive into how you can make these small gift bags quickly and easily using your Cricut.

Here’s a simple guide to get you started:

Design Your Bag in Cricut Design Space: Begin by opening Cricut Design Space and designing your small gift bag. You can incorporate Cricut images, add personalized text using Cricut fonts, and utilize a basic bag shape template. A fantastic resource for bag templates is Bird Cards. They offer a variety of free downloadable bag templates Bag Templates that you can import and use.
Customize and Attach Your Design: Arrange your chosen template and design elements within Design Space. Adjust the size and placement to your liking. Once you are happy with the layout, use the “attach” function to combine all the elements so they will be cut as a single piece.
Cut Your Design with Cricut Maker: Place your selected cardstock onto your Cricut cutting mat and load it into your Cricut Maker. Send your design to be cut. After cutting is complete, carefully peel the cardstock away from the mat.
Assemble Your Gift Bag: If you’ve included cut-out designs like a tree or text, use scrap paper to back these areas from the inside, taping them securely. Next, fold along the perforated lines of your cut design to form the bag shape. Assemble the bag and secure the sides using tape (double-sided tape works great) or glue.
