Little Moments of Motherhood

Despite some unpredictable spring weather, the spirit of the season is undeniably in the air. Eager to embrace the new beginnings, I recently ventured out to the nursery to gather some spring blooms for our front steps. With pansies in hand, ready to bring color indoors and out, I briefly stepped away, only to return and find Maddie, our dog, had indulged in every single bloom from the indoor bowls! Her unapologetic expression says it all!

Shortly after, our other furry family members, M&C, decided to extend their floral feast to the outdoor pots as well, leaving only the greenery untouched. Summer blooms will have to wait, it seems! However, the forsythia at the nursery was in full bloom, a vibrant burst of yellow, and our own bushes along the driveway are promising to follow suit soon.

This week, I also made a comforting French Spring Soup, a hearty and flavorful dish perfect for the lingering chill of spring. The lemon and fresh herbs add a delightful zing, and substituting farro for barley worked wonderfully with what I had available.

Inside, I’ve refreshed our mantel decor for late spring/early summer and am excited to bring out the striped summer slipcover for the living room loveseat. A little living room refresh is on the horizon to share with you next week!
