Alex Gifts Stardew Valley: When Trash Becomes a Birthday Present

Though Alex isn’t every farmer’s favorite bachelor in Stardew Valley, he possesses a certain charm once you get to know him. He evolves beyond his initial persona, unlike some other villagers who remain static throughout the game. However, there are playthroughs where even the nicest farmers might find themselves at odds with the residents of Pelican Town. In one such save file, interactions with Alex seemed persistently negative, filled with arrogant and occasionally sexist dialogue, creating a less than ideal impression.

For players experiencing similar frustrations, the game offers some… creative outlets. One farmer decided to make Alex the target of their in-game frustrations. This farmer embarked on a peculiar quest: to make Alex’s virtual life a little less sunny.

The chosen method? Daily slingshot practice, aimed squarely at Alex with stones. Given Alex’s predictable routine of standing in the town square, he became an easy target for this unusual form of “affection.” But the highlight of this farmer’s in-game calendar became Summer 13th – Alex’s birthday. This date presented the perfect opportunity to bestow upon him the most underwhelming of presents: trash items.

This farmer’s dedication to gifting trash was noteworthy, incorporating it into the weekly routine. Furthermore, Alex’s habit of lingering near the dog pen placed him conveniently close to not one, but two trash cans. This proximity allowed for public rummaging in garbage bins whenever Alex was nearby, creating a humorous, if slightly awkward, interaction. Imagine the farmer, with a wry smile, seemingly muttering, “Just gathering… your birthday present, bro.”

However, this path of gifting garbage might have its drawbacks. Achieving perfection in this particular save file could prove challenging. One can only hope that friendship levels in Stardew Valley cannot plummet into the negatives, as this farmer’s relationship with Alex is certainly being tested.
