It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since I started sharing our family’s Christmas gift guide for girls! This annual post has become a tradition, not just for our readers, but for my husband Bart and me too. It’s the perfect way to intentionally plan our Christmas gifts for our daughters, ensuring thoughtful presents under the tree.
There’s a real sense of accomplishment that comes with finishing all our Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving. Getting everything wrapped early is the ultimate gift I give myself – a peaceful Christmas Eve and a relaxed holiday season.
This year’s gift list for Ella (14.5), Ani (12), Star (almost 10), and Tally (almost 8) is ready to share! Plus, I’m including our stocking stuffer ideas. I hope this list of Girl Gift Ideas helps you find the perfect presents for the girls in your life!
Gift Ideas for 14-Year-Old Girls: Ella’s Picks
Shokz Headphones: While Ella has earbuds, she’s shown a lot of interest in bone-conduction headphones, especially after we gifted a pair to my father-in-law. I think these Shokz headphones will be a fantastic and unique tech gift idea for her.
Paint Markers: Ella’s passion is anything art-related! These paint markers were recommended by an Instagram friend, and they’ve been saved in my browser ever since. For artistic teenage girls, these markers are sure to spark creativity and make for a thrilling art gift.
Piping Tips: Cake decorating has become a big hobby for Ella this year. She and her cousin are even baking cakes and cookies for hospitalized children celebrating birthdays. Our current piping tip collection wasn’t cutting it for her ambitious projects, so this piping tip set is the perfect baking-related gift idea to solve that problem!
White StarBlends Face Paint: I’m definitely not an expert in face painting supplies, but Ella is! This white StarBlends face paint was specifically on her Christmas list. If your teen girl is into special effects makeup or face painting, this is a must-have supply. (You can find more of Ella’s face painting supply recommendations here).
Workout Leggings: Ella has been joining my gym classes this fall, which is so much fun! She only has workout shorts, so workout leggings are a practical and thoughtful gift idea for the colder months. To complete the active girl gift set, I’m also including these super popular Nike workout socks.
Gift Ideas for 12-Year-Old Girls: Ani’s Wishlist
Carving Kit: A reader recommended this carving kit as a favorite gift for tween boys, and I immediately knew it would be perfect for Ani, who loves hands-on projects. Along with the carving kit, I also got a set of wood blocks to fuel her creativity – an excellent creative gift idea for girls who love to build and create.
Remote Page Turner: A remote page turner for her Kindle was on Ani’s Christmas wishlist. Wish granted! To go with it, I added a new Kindle case to replace her old, plain blue one. For book-loving girls, a Kindle accessory like this is a fantastic and practical gift idea.
Raycon Earbuds: Another item from Ani’s wishlist, Raycon earbuds were an easy yes for me. I use my own Raycon earbuds constantly and know she’ll love having her own pair. Quality earbuds are a great tech gift idea for girls who love music, audiobooks, or podcasts.
Latch Kit: She wanted a latch kit so much it was on her wish list twice! I chose the swan design because it looked the most detailed and advanced – a perfect craft gift idea for girls who enjoy detailed and engaging projects.
Pickleball Bag: Ani started pickleball lessons this fall and is really enjoying it. We got Ella this same pickleball bag last year, and it’s been great, so we’re getting Ani the same one in a different color. For sporty girls, a pickleball bag is a practical and sports-related gift idea, especially if they are taking lessons or playing regularly.
Gift Ideas for Almost 10-Year-Old Girls: Star’s Surprises
Tool Set: Star spent much of the summer working on small wood projects with Tally – sanding, nailing, and cutting. I think she’ll absolutely love this kids’ tool set. It’s designed for kids but includes real tools, not just toys, making it a great educational and hands-on gift idea for girls interested in building and DIY.
Krispy Kreme Stuffy: Star has always loved stuffed animals. It wouldn’t be Christmas without a new cuddly friend for her. A plush toy is always a comforting and classic girl gift idea, especially for younger girls who love soft toys.
Hammock: The girls’ cousins have these hammocks, and my kids are always drawn to them. Having their own hammocks will be so fun for them to relax and play in! A hammock is a fun outdoor or indoor gift idea for girls who love to relax and play outside.
American Girl Doll Car: I love that my girls enjoy playing with their American Girl dolls just like my sisters and I did growing up. This American Girl doll car is a cute and fun accessory to add to their doll collection, a delightful gift idea for girls who love dolls and imaginative play.
Instax Camera Film: For Star’s 9th birthday, we gifted her an Instax camera, which has been a big hit. She asked for more film, and she’ll be thrilled to receive it. Instax film is a practical and fun refill gift idea for girls who already have an Instax camera and love taking instant photos.
Gift Ideas for Almost 8-Year-Old Girls: Tally’s Treasures
Beddy’s Blanket: Tally loves blankets and has quite a collection. This year, she asked for a “light, not heavy blanket,” and I knew immediately which blanket would be perfect! We have a Beddy’s on-the-go blanket (from the makers of our beloved zipper bedding) and it’s fantastic – cozy but not too hot. A Beddy’s blanket is a cozy and comfortable gift idea for girls who love to snuggle up.
Bunny Night Light: This bunny night light was a surprise request on the girls’ Christmas wishlists this year, but it was so adorable and affordable I couldn’t resist! A cute night light is a sweet and practical gift idea for younger girls, especially those who appreciate a comforting light at bedtime.
Baking Kit: Tally has started showing a real interest in the kitchen this year, and a baking kit was one of her requests. This cinnamon roll kit will be a hit, and she’ll have plenty of family members ready to help taste-test! A baking kit is a fun and engaging culinary gift idea for girls interested in cooking and baking.
Squishmallow: I don’t fully understand the Squishmallow craze, but my kids are obsessed! When we gifted each girl a Squishmallow a few years ago, they were incredibly excited. Since it was on Tally’s wishlist, I’m getting another one. A Squishmallow is a popular and cuddly plush gift idea for girls of all ages who love collecting these soft toys.
Hammock: We thought Star would enjoy having a hammock buddy! Plus, these hammocks are affordable and have excellent reviews. Having a second hammock is a great companion gift idea to go with Star’s hammock, encouraging outdoor play and relaxation for both girls.
Family Gift Ideas
Universal Yums Subscription: I’ve heard about Universal Yums for years, and this year felt like the perfect time to try it as a family. Each month, you get a box of snacks, information, games, and trivia about different countries. It’s going to be so fun and a great family experience gift idea! (Okay, maybe it’s a little bit for me too!).
Mini Trampoline: Our girls are on our outdoor trampoline all spring, summer, and fall. Having a mini trampoline for indoors during the winter will be fantastic for getting energy out – a fun and active family gift idea for indoor fun during colder months.
Musical Boxing: We’ve talked about getting a boxing setup for years. This musical boxing system mounts on the wall, saves space, and syncs to music, which seems perfect! I think this will be popular with both the kids and adults – a unique and active family gift idea to promote fitness and fun together.
Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Girls
Luggage Tags: It seems simple, but I think my girls will love having their own personalized luggage tags for our travels – a practical and personalized stocking stuffer idea for girls who travel or enjoy having their own special items.
Travel Jewelry Boxes: These travel jewelry boxes are useful both at home and for trips. It’ll be great for my girls to have a place to keep all their jewelry organized – a practical and organizational stocking stuffer idea for girls who have jewelry and want to keep it tidy.
Paper Airplane Pads: These paper airplane pads are so fun and were incredibly popular on this year’s $5 gift guide for stocking stuffers. My girls will be delighted to make cool paper airplanes – a fun and inexpensive stocking stuffer idea for creative play.
Magnifying Glasses: My girls have been very interested in magnifying glasses this year, so these 30x ones with LED lights will be a stocking stuffer hit – a curious and educational stocking stuffer idea for girls who love exploration and discovery.
Nail Polish: I couldn’t resist the new metallics collection from Olive & June and got one for each of my girls’ stockings. Plus, everything on their site is currently 25% off with code 25OFF! Nail polish is a classic and beauty-related stocking stuffer idea, especially with fun, trendy colors.
Sharpie Sets: My girls love art supplies, so I got a few Sharpie sets to mix and match for their stockings – a creative and versatile stocking stuffer idea for artistic girls who enjoy drawing and coloring.
Guest Checks: My girls play restaurant constantly, so these guest order books will be a fun and super affordable addition to their imaginative play – a playful and imaginative stocking stuffer idea for girls who love role-playing and pretend play.
Earrings: These constellation screwback earrings from Hey June are just for Ella, since she’s the only one with pierced ears. She loves them because they don’t irritate her ears and she can wear them all the time. Earrings are a personal and stylish stocking stuffer idea, especially for girls with pierced ears who appreciate quality jewelry.
Candy: Our girls always want peppermint bark and Ghirardelli’s chocolate! Candy is a traditional and sweet stocking stuffer idea, always a welcome treat during the holidays.
Pringles: This is a longstanding tradition from Bart’s family that we’ve continued. A single-serve pack or two of Pringles for everyone! Pringles are a fun and savory stocking stuffer idea, carrying on a family tradition and adding a snack they’ll enjoy.
