Navigating the EA Gift Card and EA Wallet System
-
To utilize an Ea Gift Card and access the EA Wallet, you’ll need an EA Account. Creating an EA Account requires you to be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age applicable in your country. This age requirement is also indicated on the back of physical EA Gift Cards where they are sold. Please confirm you meet the age criteria before purchasing an EA Gift Card. Furthermore, you must be a resident of and hold an EA Account within the country where the EA Gift Card was originally offered for sale. An internet connection is necessary to proceed, and standard internet access fees may apply.
-
These Terms and Conditions are an addition to the overarching EA User Agreement and Privacy & Cookie Policy. They specifically govern EA Gift Cards bought within the United States and the EA Wallet funded by redeeming these EA Gift Cards. Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions is mandatory to redeem an EA Gift Card, and to activate, access, and use your EA Wallet for purchases on www.ea.com or any other EA online stores that accept EA Wallet as a valid payment method.
-
For EA Gift Cards issued, redeemed, and EA Wallets activated, accessed, and used within the United States, the controlling entity is Electronic Arts Inc. (“EA”), located at 209 Redwood Shores Parkway, Redwood City, CA 94065. Throughout this document, “you” refers to the customer, while “EA,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Electronic Arts Inc.
Redeeming Your EA Gift Card
- EA Gift Cards are easily redeemable online. Simply visit www.ea.com/redeem and follow the instructions to add the gift card funds to your EA Wallet.
Important Restrictions on EA Gift Cards
-
It’s crucial to remember that EA Gift Cards are for single use only. Once redeemed, they cannot be reloaded with additional funds, resold, transferred for monetary value, refunded, or exchanged for cash. They are intended for use solely within the EA ecosystem and cannot be applied to any other accounts outside of EA.
-
Responsibility for Your Gift Card Post-Purchase: Once you purchase an EA Gift Card, you assume full responsibility for it. EA is not liable for EA Gift Cards that are lost, damaged, or stolen after purchase. Treat your EA Gift Card like cash and keep it secure.
-
Expiration of Gift Card Funds: The value held on an unredeemed EA Gift Card does not have an expiration date. However, it’s important to be aware that unredeemed gift card amounts may become subject to state unclaimed property laws over time.
Understanding Your EA Wallet
- Your EA Wallet becomes active as soon as you successfully redeem an EA Gift Card. EA does not impose any charges for activating or using your EA Wallet. You are limited to having and using only one EA Wallet at any given time, linked to your EA Account. Your EA Wallet’s currency will be determined by the currency of the first EA Gift Card you redeem. If you change your country of residence associated with your EA Account, it’s essential to deplete your EA Wallet balance before purchasing and redeeming an EA Gift Card in your new country. Upon redeeming a gift card in your new country, your EA Wallet will reflect the new balance. Redeeming EA Gift Cards in multiple currencies within a single EA Wallet is not allowed. Furthermore, you cannot use another person’s EA Wallet. The funds in your EA Wallet are linked to your EA Account, are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be withdrawn by you in cash. You can only use these funds to purchase eligible products, services, or features offered in the same currency as your EA Wallet, and subject to their availability. Any remaining balance after a purchase will stay in your EA Wallet for future use. If your order total exceeds your EA Wallet balance, you’ll need to use an alternative payment method to cover the difference, except for pre-orders which generally require a single payment method. If you qualify for a refund on an EA purchase made with EA Wallet funds, the refunded amount will be credited back to your EA Wallet. You can check your EA Wallet balance at any time by visiting myaccount.ea.com/cp-ui/paymentandshipping/index. Again, EA does not charge any fees for activation, access, or usage of your EA Wallet.
EA Wallet Usage Limits and Restrictions
-
Balance and Spending Limits: There are limits to how much you can hold and spend from your EA Wallet. The maximum balance your EA Wallet can hold is $300 USD. Additionally, there’s a daily spending limit of $200 USD from your EA Wallet. You can always check your current balance at myaccount.ea.com/cp-ui/paymentandshipping/index to stay informed about your available funds.
-
Nature of EA Wallet Funds: Funds added to your EA Wallet are not considered deposits and are not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) or any other governmental agency. The balance in your EA Wallet does not accrue any interest, dividends, or other forms of earnings. Your EA Wallet is not linked to a credit card, line of credit, overdraft protection, or deposit account. It functions solely as a pre-paid balance for EA purchases.
-
Unused Funds and Unclaimed Property: Any funds left unused in your EA Wallet do not expire. However, similar to unredeemed gift card amounts, unused wallet funds might become subject to statutory unclaimed property laws over time. EA will attempt to get in touch with you before any unused funds are escheated, in accordance with applicable laws.
Important Policies Regarding Your EA Wallet
-
Unauthorized Transactions: It is your responsibility to immediately inform EA Customer Support if you suspect any unauthorized use or theft of your EA Wallet, or any other security breach. You may be asked to provide documented evidence to support your claim. EA is not responsible for losses you incur if someone else uses your EA Wallet, with or without your knowledge, if it’s due to your fault. Conversely, you will be held liable for losses incurred by EA or another party if someone else uses your EA Wallet because of your negligence. EA reserves the right to correct your EA Wallet balance if there’s a clerical, billing, or accounting error. If you have questions about your transaction history, a correction, or wish to dispute a transaction or correction applied to your EA Wallet, please contact customer support at help.ea.com. EA will investigate the issue, communicate the findings, and rectify any verified errors promptly. If no error is found, an explanation will be provided. You must report any billing errors within 60 days from the date of the transaction in question.
-
Fraud, Account Suspension, and Cancellation: EA actively monitors for fraudulent activities. EA reserves the right to close customer accounts (refer to the “Termination” section of the User Agreement for details) and request alternative payment methods if an EA Gift Card is found to be fraudulently obtained, redeemed, or used for purchases in an EA store. This also applies if EA suspects fraudulent activation, loading, access, or usage of an EA Wallet for making purchases. These measures are in place to protect both EA and its legitimate users.
